The foam pad that came with your jacket is probably not armor. Most jackets ship with an uncertified foam insert or, at best, CE Level 1. It is there to fill the pocket. This is the thing that goes in its place.

What CE Level 2 actually means

Back protectors are tested under EN 1621-2, which measures how much force reaches your spine in a standardised impact. Level 1 armor may transmit up to 18 kN. Level 2 must keep it under 9 kN.

That is the whole argument: half the force, same pocket, same ride. Ours is certified Level 2 by Alienor Certification in France.

Soft while you ride, rigid on impact

The material is visco-elastic polyurethane. It stays soft and flexible against your back, warms to your body and follows the curve of your spine, so you forget it is there. On impact the structure stiffens instantly and spreads the energy across the whole panel instead of letting it land on one vertebra.

You do not have to wear an armored jacket to use it

This is the part most riders miss. Wearing a separate back protector underneath a backpack is hot, bulky and the main reason people stop bothering. So put the armor in the bag instead.

This protector is cut to drop into the hidden lower pocket of the Riderbag Reflektor35 and the Riderbag Xtreme packs. You carry the bag you were carrying anyway, and it is now doing a second job. For a commuter in a hoodie, an e-bike or scooter rider, or anyone who will not put on a full armored jacket for a fifteen-minute ride, that is the difference between certified protection and none.

Or use it the ordinary way

It is a standard Type B back insert, so it also fits most textile and leather motorcycle jackets with a back armor pocket. Measure your pocket before you order.

What you get
